The nub is for anyone who wants/needs their seat to be slammed as far as possible. The seat mast (the area that your seat clamp goes around) must be removed to the bottom of the slot to run this mod on your bike. The bolt in your Pivotal seat will pull the wedge up and tighten everything up eliminating the a seat clamp, seat mast and any shred of dignity you once had. The weight of this seat “post” is next to nothing (50 grams) and once you factor in the weight of steel mast and seat post clamp you have just removed….it actually does weigh….nothing.
